Draft: pending founder review. This page describes how Lucern handles information today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet a binding notice or agreement, and the legal entity and grievance officer below are placeholders until the founder names them.
Terms
The terms of using Lucern during early access, as the product works today.
1. The service
Lucern is operated by [FOUNDER TO FILL: legal entity name], and these terms are between you and that company. Lucern lets a buyer publish a supplier qualification process (forms, certificates, an NDA, a site visit) and lets suppliers answer it from a profile they keep with us. Answers are filled from that profile where it has them, and each filled answer shows where it came from.
The buyer decides. A supplier is qualified only when the buyer approves the last step; Lucern does not approve a supplier on a buyer's behalf.
2. Early access
Lucern is in early access. Anyone can create an account, and features change while it runs. It is free for suppliers. Buyers pay; pricing is set with each pilot.
To be decided by the founder: a published fee schedule, once early access ends.
3. Accounts and organisations
An account belongs to a person, and a person acts for an organisation. Within an organisation, roles decide what each person can do: an Admin or Project head can publish, a Member can edit, and a Viewer can read. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; actions taken from your account are recorded against it.
4. What a verification status means
Each certificate and identifier carries a status that says what was checked and how: a check against the issuing registry, a format-only check, an automated consistency check of the document, or manual review. Not every registry can be reached today, and where one cannot, the status says so instead of reading as verified.
A status describes the check at the time it ran. It is evidence for the buyer's decision, not a substitute for it.
5. What you upload
You remain responsible for the documents and answers you provide, and they must be your organisation's to share. How we handle them is described on the privacy page.
6. Not yet decided
To be decided by the founder: limitation of liability, governing law and jurisdiction, suspension and termination, service levels, and how changes to these terms are announced. Until then, write to support@lucern.com with any question about them.
